T-Lok
Okay, I have an 06 vert auto with traction control. I've heard the t-lok is a must for daily drivers in areas that get snow. I've also heard that if you have traction control you already have an LSD. But when I turn my TCS off I can only get 1 tire to spin. Any one familiar the traction control setup on a v6 auto. If I don't have it, I want to put one in. If I'm only putting in a t-lok, no gear changes, is it something I can do myself. Is there a "how to" out there somewhere. Thanks....

If you have a 4.0, you do not have an LSD...hence the one tire spinning. TCS and an LSD are two different things. Basically an LSD is going to supply/allow power to both rear wheels. While you could install an LSD yourself, this is not for the faint of heart. There are right ups out on the net outlining this process - do a search. It is recommended that if you are going to go through the effort of throwing in an LSD or paying to have it done, you might as well throw some gears in too. While 3.55's would be tame and somewhat pointless, most folks go the 3.73's / 4.10 route. If a power adder is in your immediate future, you may want to consider upgrading your rear from a 7.5 to an 8.8. You can get an 8.8 with low miles for a reasonable price and then just swap out the entire rear. An 8.8 take-off rear will come with a t-lock already installed and typically have 3.55 gears (though some places will offer different installed gears as well).
Hope this helps.

Thanks. What gears do the v6 autos come with. It's a daily driver and I got the v6 for the gas milage, don't plan to track it. I do plan on going the dual exhaust, CIA and tune route but thats about it. Was interested the t-lock for better traction in the snow. Many moons ago when the buffulo still roamed the land I rebuilt my engines, change clutches, swapped transmissions replaced suspensions, is it more difficult than that?
I believe both auto /manuals come stock with 3.31's. Upping the gear ratio will NOT kill your gas mileage much, if at all, and in my opinion is worth doing (especially if your dropping in a LSD as well). Stick with 3.73's + LSD, it'll wake your car up. Throw the CAI + tune + exhaust on top and aside from the power increase, you'll acquire better gas mileage (note: if you keep your foot buried in the pedal you won't, but it's nice being able to drive conservative, but knowing you can unleash when needed). For the CAI + tune/tuner, I'd take a look @ VPM (http://www.vmptuning.com).
Back to the gears/LSD - if you're comfortable turning a wrench, have appropriate tools, jacks, etc., find a how-to on the net (I've seen a couple, but I'm trapped at work and don't have time to do a long winded search) and you should be good to go. Hopefully somepne else will chime in to point you toward an appropriate write-up on this process.
Good luck chief!

Hi Verti6o
Here's a link to my post on the subject:
https://mustangforums.com/m_3249955/tm.htm
I had my dealer install it.
I also kept the stock gears since I commute 190+ miles a day.
My baby was bought April of 2006 and I have over 48,000 miles on her...
Even 2 MPG difference with lower gears would be hundreds of bucks of gas.
I love the T-LOK however!
And the duals.
Check out my vids to see how it runs.

We have similar commutes (mine is 120 miles daily) - I've been planning a Tlok and 3.73 install for a couple of reasons - one is for the quicker acceleration since I started going to the track for test and tune days. Now if the MPG difference is too dramatic I have to think about that -- can anyone tell me how much of a change going to the 3.73 was for them on the expressway.
