Default Newbie w/ american thunder exhaust help

Hi,

I put the new american thunder exhaust on my 2006 V6. It seems that my car's acceleration has been drastically reduced w/ the new system. Does anyone know why this is? What can i do to fix it? It is the flowmaster; i called them and they said they never heard of that before.

I put my $$$ on something else thatis wrong. I put the same exact muffler on mine, no problems. In fact, this muffler should theoretically INCREASE acceleration. Not by much, butit does letthe engine breath a little better.

Since we don't bust on our V6 brothers (or sisters), no one will say "you put it on backwards"...

LOL

How do you "know" performance has decreased drastically?

What is your 0-60 time? What was it before?

Sometimes gut feelings can be off.

One of the guys that are good with the "tuners" will be sure to chime in shortly.

Yep, I've got a V6 with a single Flowmaster AT, and there's been no reduction in acceleration in any way that I've noticed. If anything, it's ever-so-slightly more jumpy because of the improved air flow.

It's either something else in the car, or maybe you just expected to get a huge performance boost out of the new muffler and it's not what you expected.

A new Flowmaster shouldn't give you a drop in performance in any way, though.
