Air silencer removal on a 07 stock airbox?
Hi,just got a 07 V-6 auto with Pony Package.I notice the stock airbox has a rubber attachment on the end of the airduct pointing at the front fender.I removed this attachment and went for a drive and did notice a louder intake growl.Also pulled a little harder in the upper RPM"s.I think this rubber attachment is similar to the air silencer that was used on earlier model Mustangs,a common mod was to remove them,I did this on my 95 GT also.It also makes the opening in the airbox a little larger.

Nice setup btw! I've been running one of those eBay CAIs since February or so, nice gains, top-notch welds, and cheap like water. What's not to love?
