T-lok and True Track

T-lok and True Track
I have an FRPP t-lok($210-$250), and I always hear that the Detroit True Trac($420-$520) is a stronger lsd than the t-lok.What do you think the true trac's limits are rwhp/rwtorque wise on an auto. To get a GT take-off rear end and have it shipped and installed is very costly. This crossed my mind b/c who knows if my t-lokwill give when I push it here and there on a f/i set-up.
And if my t-lok brakes while driving, will I still have powerto 1 wheel?
Thanks ahead for help!

RE: T-lok and True Track
8.8 Takeoffs range from $550(stock 3.31 gears) to $830 w/3.73 gears and $900 w/4.10's from what I've seen. Install is the same cost for the 8.8and a t-lok/true-track.They normally run between $140-$200(2hrs labor)for installdepending on what mechanic you go to/where you live.
As you see, if my t-lok snaps from hard launching or too much power. A true-trac if it's strong enough will allow me to save $400-$500 while keeping my 4.10 gears.

RE: T-lok and True Track
a stock 8.8 isnt even as strong as an DTT in the rear with a girdle/panahrd bar relocation and hardened axles, i have broken them with 270 rwhp ft.lbs, i snaped the spiders in my open diff on a 100% stock auto 3.8 which are the same strenght ast the tloks
i dont think anyone has broken a DTT yet? or an eaton would be another good unit
