it depends on your use...if you are running a highly modified or f/i 4.0 and drag racing, the t-lok may not hold up over time. the detroit is definitely tougher, can take a lot of abuse. but if you are a daily driver who just likes to get on it and not a trackster, i think you'll be fine with the t-lok. I just brought one and I don't plan on going F/I, I just want a posi. I'm not going to change gears, keeping the stock 3.31s. I should be just fine with the FRPP trak-lok.

from what i've read, the t-lok is plenty fine for occasional track runs and moderate modded stangs. if you're going big on mods and track runs, it would be common sense to buy the most durable parts. if money is an issue, then going big shouldn't be an option.

i blew my stock open up on stock 3.8 auto power ([&:]or whats there)if you dont keep hammering it im sure it will be fine, but if your into barking the tires, powershifting, chirping gears etc and drive your car like you should, just get a detroit, girdle, and panhard bar reloctaion, because when it comes down to it, the tlok MIGHT hold, the detroit you know WILL,

and for those that say just get an 8.8, well ive blown them up on a stock mach 1 so you mise well just build the 7.5

+1...this adds to my point: if you wanna go big in power, you NEED to go big in durability. dont half-*** it. do it right the first time. if your funds are low, then just save up unless ur intentions are not as big as you first thought. good luck.
