I'm starting to wonder about fuel economy and some of these mods myself. Would like to get the car with automatic down to 0-60 in 6.5 or lower, not sure what all that'd take. It seems to shift gears in a way that I'd assume would use more fuel than a manual too. I'm up to 19.3mpg right now at 33mph average speed, bone stock. I'm more than very happy with the automatic transmission though.

With 3.73s, my in-city mileage actually improved, sincethe motor's torqueyenoughto let you cruise around town in a higher gear than with the stock 3.31s. At around 37mph, I could throw the thing into 5th and use cruise control - onlevel roads, this netted me around 36mpg with a CAI, tune, and axleback. Not bad for in-town

Highway mileage dropped 2 or so, ~26-27 at 70mph. Not bad. And the car was a blast to drive around town 3.73s are highly recommended.

I'm running the 3.31s right now again in preparation for a TORQUE MONSTAH turbo build.
