Default Squeaking from the motor. Help !

Has anybody had a problem where they get loud squeaking from the motor when it first starts up. After about 15 minutes it goes away. It sounds like the squeak is around the water pump area. Water pump is not leaking and engine temperature are ok.

2005, 4.0 V6, 45k mikes

Thanks

Check your belt... it could be time to replace it.

Replaced the Belt and the belt tension pulley. Squeaking went way down but not totally gone. Took my stang for a short test drive then it stalled out and would not start. I was looking at the belt and it path travled and notice the metal portion of the cam shaft pulley had detached from the rubber. Did some more research on the and found other people have had this same problem. Look under HARMONIC BALANCER in the form.

Thanks for your reply. I found that the Harmonic Balancer (Crank Pulley) ripped apart. I saw that other people in the forum have had this same problem. Just thought I let you know the out come.

Thanks Again Joe
