Default Throttle Body and Plenmum

I just bought an 05 V6 convertible and have a few questions. I searched the forums and didn't find the stock size of the V6 throttle body, only the GT. Whats the measurement? Second, does anyone know if our plenums are restrictive for N/A applications? Are there aftermarket plenums? (I couldn't find any) Thanks!

N/A motors will not benefit in any meaningfull way from an upgraded throttle body. Most people with them seem to have issues as well. Use the money on a mod that will add noticeable performance. Unless you are going to a very radical set up the plenum dosen't seem to be an issue based on the performance gains so many members have achieved with their various mods and stock plenums.

The stock TB is 63mm I think (or is it 67). And the flow of the tb and intake are quite efficient for N/A applications. Heck, even with my F/I setup, I'm still running stock TB and plenum.

Do your research and spend your mod money wisely, Grasshopper!

These were pretty much the replies I was expecting to hear. Thanks!

I just got a tunable inductions intake and the next move is a Pypes mid muffler system and a tuner.

I am happy to finally have a car I can modify. My last car was an 04 VW Passat W8 and while it had a weird 4.0L 8 cylinder making 275/275 the AWD made it a fat car at 4,000lbs. Still it sounded great, had unbelievable handling in all weather and with a top end at 168 MPH and stock 1/4 at 100MPH, I want a little more top end in my Mustang. Down side of the W8 was I could only do intake, tune, and exhaust for a little over 300HP and 300lbs, no after market (those three items I was looking at $1500) . I love the Mustang I have even though there hasn't been much done to it!

Avoid the Pypes unless you like unloading bad accessories on eBay.
I dont think a mid muffler was an option.
Get the tuner before you install the tunable intake.
What brand of CAI did you get?

What do you mean unloading bad accessories on eBay? I thought the pypes system sounded really good and wasn't a bad brand to go with as I've seen many on Mustangs. Any specific issues I should look at?

I have a Demolet Tunable Induction in the mail

$510 for a CAI and a SCT X3 with 3 canned tunes? Ouch.
Never heard of the brand or the company.

If you want Pypes, they are plentiful on eBay cus most that buy them
dont like the quality or the sound. They are hard to get to clamp together
and to get to seal up and stay sealed up.
Leaker Pypes should be the brand name...

Well then it looks like I'll just go back to my original GT take offs with x-pipe plan. I was worried about the 'youtube' sound quality when listening to the mid muffler and rear delete kit.

Found a BBK 70mm TB on ebay at $1.25 with 10 S&H. Seems like a lot of people have issues with them. If it stays under $10, is it worth taking a look at or is it still just a waste (even that cheap)
