So about a month after having my 2005 v6 mustang (automatic) me and my dad noticed this very annoying sound that would occur. It seems to occur when you put the pedal down to a certain degree and when like going up hill. We have taken it to the mechanic and he checked the engine and everything important and didn't see anything wrong he also tightened a lot of bolts but it still happens. Although it is not causing serious problems it is very annoying, so I was seeing if anyone else has this problem or if anyone might know what this might be?
which pedal? (i assume the gas pedal if you're going UP a hill). Also, what is the "certain degree" level; 1/4 the way, 1/2, all the way? Is it just a sound or does it vibrate, pulse, etc.? What is the sound like; rattle, thud, etc.? just looking for more info to ponder my thoughts over ...
i know what you're talking about. it's at a certain rpm, especially when going uphill. don't know what it is. been told it's really nothign and every auto will do that at whatever rpm makes it do that.
my gfs 2000 does that when accelerating, been chasing it for a year now and I still can't find it. my 05 vert doesn't have any issues with rattling though.
I think with most cars at a certain frequency of the engine, the vibrations start to resonate in the materials and can cause more sound than at any other RPM.
There's a TSB out that says to cut the mid pipe hangers at the transmission crossmember if you get vibrations coming up through the dash or center stack.
