My color Question
Hi guys I bought my 07 stang convertible without the mycolor. 3 yrs later I have decided to install. I bought the 3 button piece and installed it on my center console. And I bought a new cluster. Wondering how hard it is to take out the cluster. The things is I do not want my stealership to install, I'm afraid they will damage. but I knoe they need to reprogram it to put the miles? Can you guys let me know how hard it is to do it on my own and what does the stealership have to do.
Thanks
Thanks

First, as I understand it, some may not have the wiring. So according to another post, check the empty left side 3 button socket for the connecting molex plug. If it´s there you should be ok.
Then, see this thread here.

So ultimately cost you around $375 with the as built re-flash and shipping, which I would do. Temporarily hit you at $675 until you get your old 4 gauge unit back to them.
You can get a wrecked ones innards ala fleabay, but everything needs to match up exactly as I understand it. I got the mycolor buttons for mine, but only because I wanted one to re-wire it´s innards for use as my car pc´s momentary push-buttons. Thus keeping everything factory looking inside. Which I´ve done.
I´d call the guy since he seems to be one of the few with a clue, and ask about a fleabayed console and buttons. You can quite likely just have them re-flash an old wrecked mycolor console for your specific car without needing it to be an exact match, for just the cost of labor and shipping to and from them.

UPDATE: Ed Olsen is now at Parr Ford and can be reached at parts@parrauto.com... Phone: 360-616-6749
Talked to him last week to add the mycolor, 6 gauge instrument cluster with message center and required swithto my GT.
Current prices: 6 Guage Instrument Cluster with message center- $243.10, Switch - $39.62, Refundable $300 core charge when old instrument panel is DHL (included) back to Parr Ford. Shipping about $25.
Ed states that for a while 90% of the cars didn't need a "as built" reflash be the dealership but now it's down to 50/50. To have your car "as built" reflashed, is about 1 hour labor rate.
Must tell him your current mileage, VIN number, manufacture date
