EVERYTHING has a resonant frequency. Thing is.... underneath a car there are so MANY variables that any of them can impact that specific number. What's funny is that apparantly the design of the single exhaust on the V6 appears to have hit the nail on the head, hence, the counterweights.

In theorey, by going dual exhaust, you "should not" need the counterweights... and I daresay, do NOT need them. This does not mean that the dual exhaust won't have other areas that cause it to resonate. It's quite apparant that they do.... but not on all of our sixxers.

I've not had a problem with mine... GT takeoff's (manual trans version) behind a Pypes X-pipe. No worries.

OTOH, those that have the resonance issues, yeah, I can see how it could make you nuts. Sometimes it's a simple fix... other times, extremely daunting. Meanwhile, thining back, my 2004 never had an issue with either the duals or the original single exhaust.... but then, it's a completely different animal... OR.... was it due to the fact that like our friend here, the mufflers were mid-point on the system?

Dunno.... far too many other variables to venture a guess. Keep tweaking it... you will find a solution.
