Tuning Questions
Hey everyone,
I have a 2010 v6 convertible auto. It was a CAI( cant remember the brand, throttlebody spacer, Pypes x-pipe and take off gt exhaust. I just recently got a SCT/SF3 tuner from a buddy of mineand was wondering what the best setting to set everything at would be?
Yes I used the search engine and no it didnt come up with the results i was looking for.
If anyone could provide any information on what the best setting for spark, shiftpoints and pressure etc... would be it would be a great help

Somebody on here will know, but you could also email Bama. Since you have the same tuner they use I'm guessing they can direct you and/or give you a custom tune based on your specific mods.
Congrats on the good stuff btw!

With the SCT tuner, did your buddy return his car back to stock and unmarry his car? If not, you may not be able to use the tuner on your car.
The best option is to order a CUSTOM tune from American Muscle or Brenspeed. They will require your PCM code number and a list of all your mods to create a custom tune that is specific to your car. Once they create the tune, they will email you the tune and you will need to hook the SCT tuner to your computer and upload onto the SCT tuner. Once complete, plug the tuner into the ODBII port in your car and follow the prompts to upload the tune. This process takes only 10 minutes and you will feel an instant change in performance.
Hope this helps!

The tuner simply stores the tune that's written by a company that has the license rights to the software. The parameters that are accessible by you on the tuner do little for performance. You need to ensure that your handheld has been unlocked before you can order and load custom tunes on it for download onto your car. If the previous owner of that handheld didn't return his car to stock, you have a rock that will cost about $150 to unlock.
As far as your current mods, get rid of the TB spacer at the first sign of ANY idle and acceleration problems, especially if you get it tuned. That TB is nothing but a troublesome paperweight. And if you REALLY believe the advertisiing that it provides power gains, I have some swamp land to sell you with a GREAT view.
