Default Tie Rods

During a routine oil change and tranny fluid change (since I am at about 120K) I was informed that I have an inner tie rod going bad. Should I change both tie rods or just do the one?

Thanks in advance

At 120K, it's a safe bet that the other tie rod is not far behind. If it were me, I'd replace both. There are YouTube videos to show you how to do it, but if you do it yourself, you should probably get an alignment afterwards.

inner tie rod? Wouldn't it be easier just to replace the rack?

I don't think replacing the entire rack would be easier. It certainly is much more expensive to replace the entire rack than replacing the inner tie rod. $70-80 for a pair of them vs.a couple hundred minimum for the rack.

Sure... why not the whole car while you're at it.

OP, do both sides inner and outer as well.
It's part of wear and tear maintenance anyway...
Doing the inners only, will quickly finish up what little life is left in the outer ones so you'll be doing the labor twice with another alignment to boot.

Thanks for the advice. Really just wanted to confirm my thought process.
