I took it in today for those issues, and it's worse. Looking up the VIN, it
says ABS and Traction control, this car does not have it. So, when they
ordered the cluster, they got the one for the VIN. Now, the Brake, ABS,
and Traction lights are on...

The mileage was 102,738, now it's over 729,000... So, they need to
correct that too...

With the radio, I have looked it up, and I knew they would not be able to
service it, they need an approval for a replacement, since it is used and
I am getting this one time deal to fix the stuff.

I should'a stuck with Volkswagen... Every time I go with another make other
than what I currently have, these issues happen... ALWAYS...

A new Cluster is like $70.00 on eBay, the ones I see have the battery and oil pressure
gauges too, mine does not have those. Will those gauges work if I put one of those gauge
clusters in?

Will check the hood thing too...

Do you have a TCS button on the center stack? If you look under the hood, front driver side, you can see the ABS block if you have it. If the VIN report shows it was built with ABS and TCS you should have it.

Is this at a Ford dealer? It sounds like they didn't do something correctly. They should be able to read the VIN properly and install a new cluster with the "as built" data as well as set the mileage to the same as the one they took out.

If you didn't have the 6 gauge cluster, then installing one won't make the other gauges work - the as built doesn't have the coding to read them. At least as far as I know.

Ford had it, and they said there is no ABS block, and it does not have TCS.
Their Acura branch put the cluster in... They know it has to come back...
They should only need to program the cluster so the MILs are not on...
It went to their Ford branch after the issues, so I don't know why FORD was
like they didn't know how to fix it without replacing the cluster again.

I read other forums where people are going to the 6gauge cluster, and buying the
three button thing that goes in the top left of the radio bezel. Their conversions
are not clear, and links to instructions no longer work...

Oh, whoops! This cluster has 72,938.x miles... When it rolled over to
100,000, I guess it pushed the decimal position off for all six digits. That
won't matter, CarFax will still show the 102,192 last reported, at the dealer.

I found This:
Click here for a great right up on making the swap, including pricing and parts needed. Our service department just did one a few days ago for a customer.
You need to order a new Instrument Cluster (VIN specific and mileage has to be verified by a shop to place order), and you'll need the 3-button cluster (info/select/reset).

The CLICK HERE link doesn't work, but they say they can do it, but it has to be a NEW one...

Found this:
I 'm in the process of doing this myself, too.

First, using a flat head, pull out the dummy 3-button cover to the left of the cig lighter plug. If you see a plug fitted onto the back of that dummy button cover, you are good to go.

Them you need the buttons that go there, and the gauge cluster.

The install itself is easy, but you will need to have a Ford dealer flash your computer so that it works. If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that without the ECU flash, the car won't even turn on.
So, they are going to have to find a cluster from a car that does NOT have ABS/TCS...
Or, they are going to have to buy a NEW cluster and program it. I found you CANNOT
change the mileage in a used cluster. It has to be new....

I upgraded mine a few years ago. First, you need to pop out the blank where the 3 switches would go. If you have a wiring harness plug stuffed into the back of the blank then you're good. If not, forget it.

You go to the dealer and order the cluster. They need your current miles. The cluster center will program it with your miles and send it. You will also need the switch assy. You go to the service dept and have a tech remove the information from your cluster with his computer, swap the cluster over and he will install the information to the new cluster. It takes all of 5 minutes to swap clusters. I have no idea what information the tech retrieves, but it's not the mileage, it's something else.
WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FORD MAY BE DELETING THE WIRING FOR THE MYCOLOR SWITCH ON THE MUSTANGS! PULL YOUR BLOCK OFF PLATE AND CHECK FOR WIRING PLUGGED INTO DUMMY BEZEL BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS! 04/19/05 IT IS POSSIBLE IT IS TUCKED OR TAPED INTO LOOM BUT YOU WILL NEED TO VERIFY IT'S THERE FOR A SUCCESSFULL CONVERSION.
People are doing it...

Did my 07 cluster swap back in 2011 and for the most part it was plug and play. I got the cluster on ebay, sent it to powels speedometer in lancaster pa. to have the mileage corrected. No ford dealer, no programing as built, and everything works.

My '08 does not have ABS or TCS, so I would need one AS BUILT for that, right?
I can't believe that this FORD dealer would not know the deal here, I mean, they ARE
certified technicians, right?

1st, I have to see if that harness is behind that bezel for the upgraded cluster.

Also, you also didn't need your VATS programmed? So, you swapped and your
car started up and the Keyfobs worked?

Being you don't have abs, yes I think you should check for the plug first. No programming was done, and yes the car started right up. Everything worked.

Well, the replacement they used now has the BRAKE, ABS, and TCS lights on.
I would have to say the cluster needs programmed for my car since it does not have
ABS and TCS. On the original cluster, they were not on, and the brake light would
come on when I pulled the ER brake handle. Now they're all on solid...

The other item Is called the Info Setup Reset Center...

Called them today, and they are insistent the cluster needs to be from a car that does
not have ABS or TCS, and they cannot program this one for it.
