automatic shifter loose

Default automatic shifter loose

the automatic shifter column is loose, and causes issues at times to put in drive. see video. how can I fix this?

Where is the trim ring that is supposed to go around that? Could be part of the reason it is loose like that.

yes,
I removed the trim to show you exactly which part.
The trim does click in place but the shifter still wobbles like that, and as stated when you go put in Drive sometimes it does not click in D. Its like between D and N. You need to mske sure its in D

The shifter is broken at the base. it will give you problems getting it in gear. Remove the top of the console it will give you a better look. Like on the other forum you need to replace the shifter. Either a local salvage yard or ebay.
