Default Driver side power window switch problem

I had to recently replace the driver side power window motor on my '12 convertible. After doing so I started to experience random issues with the switch itself working, not working, working half way, kind of like it has a mind of its own. Mostly have these issues with the driver side window, sometimes, but rarely with the passenger side. Got a replacement switch cluster but it basically does the same thing. I found that if I play with the wires at the connector that I could get the window, when stuck in a position and unresponsive, to get it to work. But when I back probe the wires at the connector, everything looks fine with voltage and continuity. Kind of maddening that I cant figure this out. Anyone experience this or have a suggested solution? My next course of action would be to try and splice in a new connector but I have a feeling that's not gonna work. Hope the brain trust out there can suggest something. Thanks

It isn't the shell, rather it is the connectors inside the shell. Window motors draw more current than you might think they do. As a result, the connections must b secure. It is possible to remove each connector, and tighten them, but it requires dexterity to do it correctly. It pays to use the correct tool to pull them out of the shell.
