This just recently started. I have an 03 Mustang GT. The steering just started to make a popping noise when you turn. If you are sitting still and turn the wheel, it really does pop. It barely pops while moving. Just trying to get an idea of what it is...

 

no idea, but my wheel made a sqeeking sound when i got it and they said there wasan airbag spring recall or something and they fixed it. maybe its related

 

man, steering noises/issues seem to be pretty common with mustangs. the more i look around, the more i see owners with all the same type of problems.

 

if you havent gone over your milage your car should still be under warranty untill august, take it to the dealership, i had the same problem except when i would go up inclines it would pop and creeak. they fixed it and it works fine now

 

I had the same problem, mine almost came from the dash and it was a hard popping noise, it hasnt done it in a while, I had it under warranty and ford said they couldnt identify the problem so i dunno id have them take a look at it anyways if its under warranty....

 

I have a problem with my Flowmaster Cat Back where if I take a bump or incline at an angle the upper control arm hits the exhaust and makes a popping sound. I've heard its common with mustang catbacks. Are you sure it's coming from the front?

 

im positive its coming from the front... only when i turn the wheels. i can be sitting still and it will do it so i know it isn't from the catback
