Short tube headers are not worth it for the price and install price compared to hp gain. They are usually $300 to buy and another $2-300 for install, and 5-8hp is max you will see out of these.

I love my shorties, the power increase and tone are awesome, and I've yet to install my SLP catted X-pipe. Those stock manifolds are some of the smallest I have seen in 30 years of production V-8's. I think you will be very pleased with the results. Shorties hang on alot easier to your heads (don't loosen, don't get hit on speed bumps) they are a nice option if you want to get in drive it and not fuss with it. I agree there is more power to be gained with long tubes, but a late model Mustang is a B**CH to put headers on. Once on, I don't want to **** with them, My performance mods are middle of the road, I don't want to compromise reliability for performance, but others see it differently, but that's their right. ANY HEADER wakes these engines up, the difference was night and day on my car. What these cars love NA, is Induction and Exhaust mods, so mod away.
