Default Surprising difference with K&N install

I put a K&N filter in today, and
I am actually shocked at the fact that it made a really noticable difference, the throttle response is much better, and power from a roll on feels dramatically increased, All I can think of is that the stock filter was not letting the exhaust and removed silencer do what they were supposed to, and this was the piece of the puzzle nessacery to see more of there potential. Anyway, if you still have your stock filter, I highly reccomend getting it out of there, it is very restrictive, with the stocker, I could not hear the intake sucking air in, now I can, and it did make a difference, next weekend I am going to dyno my car, I will swap out the filters and see what the actual difference is in power. I do realize though that I only got this much of a difference because of what I already have done. Next on the list, throttle body, plenum and tuner

Yea man it did the same for me. I put the K&N FIPK II Cold air intake on it about a month ago. It was a lot bigger change then I expected.

No, its really not,,, Like I said, I was suprised it made a difference, and as I stated, I do not believe it was the filtr alone, I feel it is now letting my exhaust and the fact I removed the silencer make a difference, I think the stock filter was keeping it corked up,,,,,,,,, I don't think K&N's can work miracles, but it did make a noticable difference compared to stock

Dude, it's just a catback. It's not like you had a cammed monster with LT's and O/R mid-pipe breathing through a stock filter. I'm guessing you saw maybe 3hp...

If someone installed it without you knowing you wouldn't feel anything.

its because you were expecting to feel a difference right from the start. in your subconcious you were thinking, this is a performance upgrade and will increase throttle response and acceleration blah blah (all the things the ads say). its like with those ebay ressistor chips that some idiots try and actually claim "wow this thing really worked i could feel the power right away" when in reality it leaned out their car and robbed them of 10 hp. not saying the filter and everything didnt gain you some power, but its really psychological to feel such small gains.

No way you felt an increase from 220-223 HP.... I mean I might believe that in a Honda because adding 3HP pretty much doubles your horsepower but comon' now... But do a little experiment.... Take off your existing air filter. Have a friend either put on either the K&N or the stock filter. Then take it for a drive and guess whether you have the stock or the K&N. Have your friend verify... Do it 3 times and if you guess right all 3 times then we will believe you and each give you a cookie...

if youve had the stock filter in for like 50k miles you will feel a difference b/c it would be dirty as shh#t
