If $$ is a big factor, hold off until you can really afford what you want. I can tell you from personal experience...mod motors are expensive to heavily mod. If you want a fast car in a relatively short amount of time and reasonable amount of $$, do all the bolt ons, Stage 1 cams, exhaust, gears and a 100 shot of nitrous. With that set up and good tires, you should be mid 12's very easily and still have a reliable daily driver.

On the other hand, for what you posted on what you want....that will cost you alot of $$, even if you do alot of the work yourself. There is a guy here locally that is building a turbo 2V and has done alot of work himself. He has over $20K invested and is still not running because of breakage.

My point is to determine what your budget is and add about 20% to that for things you forget. Just trying to save you alot of heartache.

You should read (not just look at the pictures) one of the service manuals, this will give you an idea of what tools and parts you will need before hand. As far as what type of pistons.....you have to first decide on how much boost you are going to be running, this will determine the size of the dish on the pistons. or if you are going N.A. you will want a different type to maximize your compression ratio...however you don't want it to high or you will cause detonation. ...
