Default Clutch noise?

Let me preface this all by saying I know very little about cars. I don't need everything spoonfed to me, but keep in mind I might not be able to follow your reply if its filled with abbreviations and other jargon.

With that said, I also have not experienced any functional change with my clutch. I don't have problems with getting the car into gear, nor has there been any vibration, resistance, etc in my clutch pedal.

A few days ago I noticed a slight squeaking sound when I depress the clutch pedal. I thought it might be due to the cold (I'm in NY and I've noticed that it doesn't do it ALL the time.) but it was reasonably mild today and I still heard it. I'm not sure how to describe the sound other than it's similar to a door hinge that needs a little WD-40. It's nothing too loud or obnoxious, but it is noticeable.

Is it anything to keep an eye on or check out? I don't recall hearing the noise before this week.

Does it squeak as you're pushing the pedal? I know it sounds stupid, but you could just stand to WD40 your clutch pedal, that may fix it. Have a friend listen to where the sound is coming from when you push the pedal.

If it is making noise when you have the pedal held all the way down to the floor, it is probably your throwout bearing... how many miles is on your stang?

I have almost 50k miles on the car. It squeaks as I'm pushing the pedal, not when it's down to the floor. I'll see if I can pinpoint the noise.

my tranny is making a noise when the clutch is not engaged. like a ticking noise. i went the dealer and they said it was a normal noise. something about planatary gears or something like that. and when i put any pressure on the clutch at all it goes away. also sometimes when i push the clutch in it makes a squeeking noise.

Hey join the BUSTED THROWOUT BEARING CLUB. Its not normal... Your throwout bearing on your clutch is busted. You can drive around like that i do... but when you change your clutch it will go away just besure to get new throwout bearing if the clutch kit doesnt come with one.
