Default Tail light tint

Hey guys I'm thinking really really hard about getting the blackout tint for my tail lights. Some of the cars I see with these look awesome, but some of them just don't look good. Code3GT's look really good on his car, but some of the ones on the Autobadges website just look ghetto. I have a Black on black GT with tinted windows. Oh yeah 1 more question, are they illegal???

I think the tail light blackouts look good on ANY car, its just one of those extra features that look good no matter what car you have.

However, I would also like to know... Are they legal?

I think it depends on the color of the car. Darker cars look much better with tint. Lighter cars look odd unless they have other dark accents like black stripes, lettering, and tinted windows.

My convert is silver like codes. I've had the tint on for about 6 months now and still have no problems. It looks great. I need to find the 3rd brake light tint though...

That depends on your state...they are illegal in some states...

But i think it also has to do with HOW DARK you go...just smoked? or totaly black?

Somehow im thinking in many states you could get pulled over for completely blacked out. That's why I went with 50% smoked off of ebay...in my opinion smoked looks better then "blackout".
