so what is the differnce? i reeeeeally want this shift **** but it says its for a 2005 mustang...i have tri-ax shifter

the difference is how the boot comes up to meet the bottom......i'm all but certain that the threads are the same.......since there are actually no threads in the **** if the opening is the same size as the shifter you'll be fine.....but the boot will look dumb underneath it.
this is what i have and i love it. but i bought mine from ford for 50 bucks and it's a little cleaner than this one.
