Default Intake Fan?

I was in PEP Boys Sat, & looked at a fan that fits in your cold air intake tube, I think it was 70 bucks is this worth buying? I guess it increases air flow?

I can't believe that people actually get rich off these things. All it has to say is "saves gas, more hp" and they are bought by the thousands. By the time they are found to be false claims, they have a mansion, yacht, and a couple of six digit cars. I guess I'm in the wrong business. I'm gonna roll up a couple of socks and market them as "producing more low end torque" by increasing back pressure when stuck in your tailpipes. Watch em' come running!

I'm surprised PepBoys sells that stuff..for liability reasons.
