clutch pedal rattles

clutch pedal rattles
in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, my pedal rattles furiously and very loudly. in 4th gear it does it sometimes but not as loud, and in 5th gear at 70+ it happens very rarely. i can put minimal amount of pressure on the pedal, and the rattling/noise goes away. is this my throwout bearing or something else? thanks.

RE: clutch pedal rattles
i kind of just answered my own question. i was up under the car changing my oil so i figured i'd take a look at my tranny. found out it is the throwout bearing. HALF OF IT IS BROKEN OFF! the part of the bearing that comes into contact with the clutch stays in place pretty much, while the rest of it goes with the fork. how the heck does this happen? #1 on the photo is where its broken, you can see the metal. and #2 is where the bearing seperates when i pull the fork back. My t45 is out of a 98 cobra. is the shift fork longer on a cobra tranny because of a diff clutch size? i noticed that on my old tranny I have in the garage, the fork seems to be almost an inch shorter. could this cause the bearing to break? sorry for the long run-on but i'm lost on why this happened. any positive input as to why would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
