Default Mach I grill delete, be prepared

I went to install my grille & spoiler yesterday but stopped dead in my tracks. The job is now postponed till Saturday. In order to replace a Mustang grille, the entire Bumper pad on the car MUST be removed. Didn't want to get into it last night. As long as I am doing that, I'll set up carpeted saw horses and hand compound the thing and remove those petrified bug stains. I'll post the removal Monday, I gave it a quick look, it doesn't look like a big deal.

undo the top bolts on the grill, then bend the grille and bumper forward to gain access to the screws. Sounds bad but it aint. the plastic in the bumper is very flexible. took about 20 min to install mine. Mine came with directions if not I would have never thought it could be done without pulling the bumper.

Yep -- just put mine on last weekend.
Just undo the top fasteners then you can bend it forward and reach in with a rachet and take off the 4 bottom screws. Seems horrible, but it came out fine. Just do it on a warm day so everything is nice and pliable.

I alos took out the headlight assemblies and the 2 fasteners closest to the headlights to give the bumper pad more ability to flex.

Thanks guys, I will do it that way. I was just concerned of overflexing and wrecking the finish on the pad.

should be alright the part that's going to bend most gets covered by the plastic piece that comes with the grille delete.
