I have got my first convertable car. A 2004, 40th Anniv. GT convertable. Does anyone have any recommendations for cleaning and maintaining the Top. I live in Florida and the sun does shine a lot.

there is a special top cleaner, i cant think of the name of it right now, but dont use wax or armorall on it.

 

+1. I went to autozone and they had plenty of convertable top cleaners to choose from. You basically spray it on and wipe it off like armorall, but it is specifically designed for convertables. Just make sure to use it 1 a month or so, at least in the summer, or the top can become dried out and crack.

 

I went to the Ford dealership and picked up a bottle of Motorcraft "Triple Clean". It cleans better than any other top cleaner I have used. At 7 bucks it was pretty expensive, but it works great. Other than that I would suggest getting a protectant for it after each wash. When I replaced the top on my car, the new one came Scotch guarded. I couldn't get dirt, road grime, or anythign to stick to it had I wanted too. Autozone or Advanced Auto should seel a similar guard for your top.
