Default HELP!!! idle problem

well, i was driving along the other day and came to a red light...my car stalled. well, the idle dropped first, then surged, and then stalled. i thought it may have been a fluke or something, as that was the first time it happened. unfortunately, it is no fluke. now every time i come to a stop, my 96 gt idles erradicly (sp?) for a couple seconds, then goes back to a normal 800 rpm idle, then goes crazy again and as long as the car is at idle, it will do this. i have replaced the IAC valve and checked and cleaned the PCV valve. i can't detect any vacume leaks, i have good, consistant fuel pressure, (and a new fuel filter). there is a new air filter, and a new MAF sensor. i have also checked the compression in all cylinders and they all check out good. the ignition is also functioning properly. now here is the kicker, the check engine light is on, and according to that, it says the engine is running lean. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

Bad o2 sensor. Bank 1 is passenger side, bank 2 is driver side. Upstream is front, downstream is rear.

well there's a chance it could be an o2 sensor or even the TPS but i'm not certain though. right now i'm having a hesitation prob and i'm about to clean the MAF and see if that makes a difference

A dirty MAF can at times cause a lean code as well. You may want to give yours a cleaning first before buying an o2 sensor. I know you said it is new but it is worth a try first since it won't cost you anything. If you do need an o2 sensor spend the few extra bucks and get a factory Ford part.
