mach 1 rear question?
I just bought a 8.8" rear that came out of a 2003 mach 1. I'm goin to be swaping it out with my 7.5" rear. There is a small fitting/ extrusion that comes off the rear that is open and fluid leaks out of it, im curious what that hooks up to b/c my stock 7.5 doesnt have any lines running to it. Im at school right now so i didnt have a chance to post any pics, but if any of you mach 1/ gt guys who have 8.8" rears and know what im taliking about can u please give feed back.. thanks.... or i'll try and post a pic later when i get home.

RE: mach 1 rear question?
That fitting is for the axle vent. Attach a rubber hose to it and run it up, and into, the crossmember above the rear, screw a clamp on it so it doesn't fall out. As the axle heats and contracts, warm air moves in and out. If that vent is plugged, the axle seals will blow because the warm air inside will build pressure. Ford puts it inside a frame rail to keep dirt from coming in the rear. Good luck on your swap!
