Default bad mileage????!!!??

well... recently ive been getting around 12mpg all around with my driving... i use to get an average of around 16-17 including my highway driving which is like 50/50.... im wondering why the sudden drop in mileage. ive had 5k miles on the car since its been blown.. do you think the plugs are bad? and im told i shoot black smoke when i get on it and that my car is running rich....

Black smoke seems to support the running rich remark. Is it rich all the time? What if you s/c is already pushing 7-8 psi and you jump on it? Does is still smoke then?

That's a huge dip in milage. If you are that rich, I'd pull the plugs and see. How much of a PITA is that with the s/c?

please explain how a bad clutch would account for poor fuel economy. I would say check the spark plugs.

and have you had your car properly tuned to work with the blower?

a bad clutch kills gas mileage??? never heard that one. try pulling the plugs and check if any are wet/fouled. did you notice a drop in performance?

If a spark plug was bad he would be able to feel it and not only that but it would probably throw a code. Try cleaning your air filter as a start and maybe try cleaning your fuel injectors. IF that doesnt help, take it back to your tuner.

you ever see that autozone commercial?
Your air filter can hurt your gas mileage bad. Go to autozone and pick a new one up.

Maybe its your air filter... or fuel filter...

cover all your basics first and then let us know what happens. Pull a plug and take a pic and show us, it's a simple way to tell a lot about your engine

i'd say have a look at it every time you change your oil (blow any crud off)

you can do a full cleaning a couple times a year
