yeah i know what you mean. I'd just leave it as is for now.
And as for the oil pan.... to do it right, the oil pan has 2 bolts that bolt it to the front timing chain cover. If you have to remove the timing chain at all like to set the timing, you have to remove that cover, to remove the cover you have to drop the pan, if you only un bolt part of the pan it will probably distort and result in a leak

Ahh... trying to remember. Well dropping the oilpan isnt that bad except its like 16 bolts or something like that. Its removing the oilpan which sucks becuase the kmember/tranny is in the way. I think you could get away with just unbolting it to remove the cover.

yep. There may be ways around it, I'm only going by what i have read on shopkey and alldata and various manuals. Not to mention i've done lots of work on other engines too, the modulars seem great when they are working but a lotta sh** is intertwined on it
