Default exhaust cut-outs

i've been thinking about exhaust cut-outs for my 01' bullitt. does anyone have exhaust cut-outs, and if so do you feel they were worth the money? how much horse power increase did you see? my friend has them on his truck, and they sounded sloppy as hell. not that that is of too much concern, being that you can open and close them when you want to. anyways any imformation would be appreciated.

They will sound good if you put the cutout on your midpipe right before your mufflers. So some of the exhaust will come out, the rest will go through the mufflers. You won't really get any power from them....and if you get electronic ones, they will be really expensive.

So overall they aren't really worth it.

On my SS I gained 8 hp from the cutout, mine does not sound that bad but it's got a big cam. On a stock Mustang I don't think you will see the gains that the LS1 guys see. Mustangs tend to have a better exhaust system (ie true duals)
