I have this squeal from the front end when I steer and hit average bumps and such. It's not a grinding like I'd expect from a power steering problem, and the fluid is fine. I tried spraying some all purpose lube on all the front end bushings I could find just to see if it quieted the noise at all in hopes it would give me a direction to investigate, but it doesn't seem to decrease the noise. I'm wondering if the noise could be due to faulty struts, the car has almost 100K and I'm assuming the original front struts. I also put lowering springs in a year ago and reused the same rubber for the lower spring, think that could be an issue? the noise started just before winter, went away for a few weeks in the middle of winter, and is now back again all of a sudden. Freakin' weird and very annoying... any suggestions?

could be a number of things

the rubber u reused could very well be it

also the front sway bar bushings could use a good greasing or even ball joints

what yr is it?

they are $4.00 a piece, you will need two of them

called steering gear tube bracket...

search google, i'm sure you will find the tsb... it fixed mine!!!

ISSUE:
Some 2002-2004 Mustang vehicles may exhibit a squeak or creak type noise while turning.

ACTION:
Replace the power steering gear tube bracket. Use only replacement parts that have a green paint dot. Torque the fasteners to 52 lb-ft (70 N-m).
