Yes, along with a $10,000 fine from the EPA.

and 1.2 the people here would have their car mpounded b/c they couldn't pay the fine.

I'm unfamiliar with that particular law. Why is a 351 swap illegal? A 4.6 DOHC or a 5.4 SOHC is fine, right?

by law, you can swap in a newer engine into an older car as long as all of the newer engines electronics and smog equiptment is on the car...you can not put an engine older than the model year into a car

so, if you swap in a 351 into a 1994 Stang, by law, you need to have the entire drivetrain, electronics and smog stuff from a 1995 Cobra R.

If you want to put a 4.6 into a FOX, then you will need the same stuff, including all 6 cats...

If you want to put a 351 into a 99, then you can not legally drive it since the last year for a 351 is 1995...

now an engine like a 5.4 swapped in is technically against the law, but since it looks like a 4.6....technically, a 347 kit in a 302 is ilegal

I thought that as long as the motor passed emissions for the year that the car was made it can be any motor. Please site the law if possible, Im having a hard time with that one.

how my 5.4 is a 2000 its newer then my car is and all smog is on. it is legal.

but to the origonal post. it would bee alot easyer to just put it in a 94-95 5.0 because all that would be is a motor swap. if you did it in a 96+ you would need a new trany, drive shaft, k-member, motor mounts and alot of time.

Saleen is officially a manufacturer, like Shelby American, and therefore, it is a different set of laws

If you get pulled over they can still check for cats and its STILL ILLEGAL WITH A 10k fine.....STILL not smart.

With that being said, the Yukon is getting an o/r Y-pipe
