Default What is your secret?

When detailing your stang inside and out, what is everyones little secret?
I wash mine car with just a sponge and water no soap. Soap of any kind will strip the wax off.

I use an auto wash soap... personally I dont think that water alone will get all the grime off... the solution to the wax issue is to wax your car every few months...

Clay bar! a couple times a year with a good wax to follow. The car stays cleaner longer. I don't care how clean you think your car is, use a clay bar kit and it will suprise you.

I wash in the shade, with cold/cool paint and cool water usually at dawn before the sun hits the car. I use a car soap w/ canuba wax in it already. twice a year I use nu finish polish. I don't like straight wax. rain-x for the windows every month. no tire treatment (on purpose).

Inside I use low shine armor all, and mequires leather foam for the seats every month. The Florida heat bakes leather even with tint on the windows.

If you use a good car soap, it will not strip your wax. The lubricants actually "lift" the dirt away from the paint so you're less likely to scratch it. With water and a sponge, you re basically scrubbing dirt into your paint. Though, if you really dont drive it much and you're simply trying to get a layer of dust off, the water method would work fine.

Also, clay bar at least once a year.
