I have recently picked up a skip at idle. I did get an MIL which stated mis-fire in # 7. The car has 65K so I replaced the plugs. Skip was still there. Thinking it could be a coil pack and not knowing how to test it, I unplugged the coil while running and did not notice a drop so I figure that was it. To test my theory I unpluggeg other coils and a mis was noticed. To further rul out other problems I swapped the coil pack from #7 with #5. I unplugged the coil pack while running and did not notice a mis in #7 again, #5 did mis. So I figure it may be the injector. I did the same test (unplug injector while running) No mis noted in #7, mis noted in all others. So I again swapped the injector from #7 with #5 and tested again. Still no mis noted in #7. What else could it be? I am away from home, and my tools, so I dont have my compression tester, which would be the obvious next step. Could it be a bad cylinder at such low miles? The plug in #7 looked comparable to all the other plugs when I replaced. Could it be the IAC? I wouldn't think so. The car is all stock. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
