NEW COBRA OWNER

RE: NEW COBRA OWNER
ORIGINAL: DILO2001GT
I was working out a deal for a 2003 Cobra with 12k miles for 25 grand at a local dealership. Then 10 grand for my car and I would of had it for $15,000. I opted not to do it just for the fact I like not having payments. My car was paid off over a year ago and its nice not having to worry about paying the payment etc. That and I don't want the IRS suspension so I figured I would just mod the GT to hell when I feel like dishing out the dough. Anyways its still a great care though I think yours looks better and your GT still had *****. Good luck trying to drive that thing at the track with all that power and the crappy IRS btw.

RE: NEW COBRA OWNER
i have a cobra and the IRS doesn't bother me. I'm sure when i get my pullies and tune i'll need some suspension work to stop wheel hop, but right now i don't get any wheel hop and i launch at 3k on the street(haven't taken it to the track yet). My nitto's are on the way so i don't know how its going to be now though.

BS BS BS BS!
Swap out the IRS if you wish...
or build it up...
...or learn to DRIVE!
there are PLENTY of guys around here with the IRS, pullied and drag radials... on stock S/C or Ported S/Cs
running approx 500rwhp
and they are running 11's (both low,mid and high)
I know obviously its not set up for DRAG RACING and is no help...
but STILL if you can DRIVE... you should be able to control it....and still pull nice 60's/ETs

RE: NEW COBRA OWNER
yeah we got ahold of a expedition 4.6L block which is aluminum($150)lol. this will drop off 80lbs of the front end. plus the weight from the battery transfer to the trunk.lol. Then im building up the bottom end to handle over 600hp. Im going to get MMR heads along with custom blower/nitrous crower cams. i plan on getting a 2.2L kenne bell and dropping 15-20psi into the engine with a outragous tune. then with all that i have to beaf somethings up. such as the axles, clutch, etc. . I have around $11,000 + the money made off of old parts to spend on everything so HAPPY MODDING FOR ME.
the problem with the cobra was that it had a couple dents here and there. when my insurance ran the vin# they found that it was in a so called minor fender bender lol. then it had a slight tick on the driver's side head. It didnt have the new factory replacement head on it.

RE: NEW COBRA OWNER
ps for them to not break anything, they have to put money into beafing the stock irs up. its actually cheaper to build up a 8.8 than a irs. grade 5 half shafts are EEEXXPEEENSSSIVVE. i think you ppl are smart enough to know that you can't run 540hp on a stock irs. well idk i have seen some dumb comments lately.lol

RE: NEW COBRA OWNER
I love the look of 03-04 cobras. If I hadn't worked so hard on swapping engines and stuff in my car last year, I would go for a cobra. Nothing says I can't swap out the 2V for a 4V (salivating at the thought).
