Coolant Leak

Coolant Leak
On an 04 GT seeping coolant from between the block and bell housing. Appears to start from above and seep down through. Checked up top and couldn't find any bad lines, so forth. Any ideas what it could be?

RE: Coolant Leak
might be the heater hose to intake manifold connection. its plastic like the rest of the ****ty intake manifold. if its cracked there it will drip onto the tranny belhousing area. ive had it leak there but my fix was tightening a hose clamp, i have a ghetto heater hose/core setup. check for the leak there, itll be at the back of the intake manifold on the passenger side, right where the heater hose connects to the manifold.

yup. My 96 did it recently at 114k. I went to change the oil and noticed a little coolant on AC compressor, yet the reservoir was full and my car never came anywhere near overheating.

yea i was gonna say the heater core or a related hose, but on an 04?[&:]
my 98 did it a couple years ago at 110 k or so.

RE: Coolant Leak
according to my haynes manual there is a small coolant hose that goes from the back of the water pump mounting surface under the intake manifold. intake has to be pulled to replace hose. might be that.

hmm as i remember that hose is pretty tough, its not likely to leak on such a new car. if it did, the coolant would be all over the place id imagine, if its just leaking onto the belhousing it is more likely the intake manifold to heater core hose inlet. what you could do is dry it off and check to make sure the connection is tight, and have some paper towels around it to confirm thats the culprit. if it is cracked, it will be covered under warranty.
