Default ENGINE DIES

What's up? I was out playing yesterday because it was such a perfect day here in GA. While driving down the road my engine just died and my spedo and tach went all the way to top speed and the tach went over to redline. Then before I could do anything it starts back up and runs fine. All gauges work fine now and the car runs perfect. Any ideas on what could cause this crap to happen?

When my friend bought his brand new in 03 it did the same thing about 4 different times. Seemed like only when he got on it. But it never did it again. I don't know we always thought it was weird but it happend so infrequently he just let it ride. We thought it might be the fuel pump being deprived of fuel and computer just shutting the car down. But I really have no real answer, just a guess. It still runs great. Let me know if you find out.

Since the gauges pegged, sounds like you had an computer failure.

I'll agree here... Could be a faulty ECU, or it is losing power momentarily for some reason.
