Help!! Underdrive Pulleys

Help!! Underdrive Pulleys
I have a 99 GT 5spd and I cannot remove the crank\balancer pulley. I was able to remove the center bolt with an 18" socket. Then I used the harmonic balancer remover tool to get the pulley off and all I ended up doing was stripping one of the bolts off the tool.
Any suggestions would be of great help!!
Thanks everyone.

RE: Help!! Underdrive Pulleys
Make sure you use strong enough bolts turned all the way into the balancer. The tool I used came with SAE threaded bolts, the balancer has metric threads,so you might have to buy some metric bolts.

RE: Help!! Underdrive Pulleys
Thanks for your posts. The pulley's are installed.
Unfortunately I did not read the post before I got the crank pulley off and YES I did strip several bolts trying to pull it off before realizing that there was a washer there. For some reason it was glued to the pulley itself and it was inset enough to where we couldn't see it.
Oh well, I learned how to do it, and I'm better for doing so.
Thanks again,
Christopher Davidson
