Default Starting Help

Hi all,
My Mustang won't start... I can hear the fuel pump activating, and the starter solenoid actuating. My battery guage goes about half as far as it used to when I try to start it. If I push start it the guage jumps up to where it used to be. I have replaced the battery and the terminals. When I cut the battery cables to put the new terminals on the wires were slightly corroded. What do you think I should do next?

very strange that the battery is good but it will push start and not start regularly.

I would look into the starter maybe? Possibly a short in the starter circuit somewhere.

Well the only reason I don't think it's the starter is because of my battery gauge on my panel. Back in the day it would go to a certain point all the time, even if the car wasn't started. Now it only goes half way when I try to start it, and when I push start it, it will jump up to full power.
