Default Air Silencer

I just bought my first stang a week ago and would like to know where the air silencer is located so I can remove it. I have a 98 gt, stock intake.

Locate you air box Where your air fliter is,
then remove it form the fender,
as you pick it up you will feel it right onder,
then just pull it off.
Bolt the airbox back to the fender!!!!- Done

Ok here goes......
Steps:

1) Turn off car or leave car running. Up to you, it just gets hot under the hood when its running.
2) Pop the Hood and cast your eyes to the lower left hand corner of the comparment, right behind the passenger side headlights. You will see a cone shaped box bolted to the fender. Thats the air intake. (Kinda restrictive no? Get a K&N FIPK II!)
3) There should be one bolt holding it to the fender I belive. I can't remeber its been so long since I seen my stock air intake. Un bolt it, and maybe, just maybe there are two more holding it from the bottom.
4) It should come lose enough for you to pull it out slightly to see a tube running from the cone into the fender itself, just pop it out, chuck it away, and rebolt everything.

Entire process should take no more then 5 minutes and BANG! Your car is (barely) slightly louder at an idle and it may seem like you get a little more "get up" when you give gas. But hey, its free. Have fun!

not really. I'd leave it as it protects the MAF. that restriction only becomes an issue with a heavily modded car
