Im so lost
I have no idea what is going on with my car. It was having what i thought to be a misfire. So i checked the plugs, and one is completely shot (keep in mind i have nitrous and might be the cause). I replaced the spark plug and checked the coils and it still isnt firing. Im not sure which cylinder it is, but if you are facing the front of the car, it is the farthest one on the right side(either 4 or 8). Anyway, Im really open to any ideas as to what could be wrong and how i can check it. Thanks.

My guess is Coil boots, they are known to go bad, your car is the right age. Clean your engine much? Are you getting the MIL lamp on the dash? Have you tried pulling the coil pack, grounding the shell of a spare plug and running the engine to see if it fires. If it fires it is a weak coil pack, or bad boot. I haven't heard too much of bad coils/wiring. I attended a Ford ignition seminar put on by Standard, they say that a bad boot is the#1 cause of misfire on a coil on plug Ford. I've run into it as well. Boots BTW can be picked up at a parts store that carries Standard Igntion Products, they are $24. for a set of 8.
Good Luck,

W/ a can of tuna fish, some duct tape, a coat hanger, and.....
Have you tried looking up the procedures for checking a bad coil?? Do you have a Service Manual, whether it be Ford, Haynes or Net-Fabulous?? You can find the impedence, Ign. current, pin-out, and other great info there... Otherwise, I'd say 70_Mach_1 gave you some pretty detailed info...

Run a compression test on all 8.
That will allow you to pinpoint it to an ignition problem.

What do you mean by the plug is shot? Is the electrode melted?
