Default Random Starting problem

Hi, I am new to Mustangforums but I have a question and I would appreciate any feedback.

I just bough an 03' GT and I noticed that when I have been driving it a while and I turn it off, and then I

go to start it around 10-20 minutes later, it won't start right up but it just cranks. It will usually start after a few tries. It only does it when it is warm outside. Any other time it always fires right up.

By the way this is my first Mustang...I just sold my 96' Formula and I am very happy with the Mustang!!

when you turn on the car do you let the lights and stuff kick in or do you crank it right away. because if you dont let the fuel pump turn on then you starve the engine for a little.

I usually let the dash lights come on, then crank it. This is a habid since I had to let my Formula "prime" for a few seconds before it would start, because the fuel pump was dying. Once I start it, the fuel pump feels strong, i.e. idles smoots revs strong with no cutout or hesitation. I think it might be a heat-related issue since I have heard of this happening to other peoples' Mustangs.

It has nothing to do with the fuel pump rookies......lol
I bet it's one of your coil packs(possible crack or corrosion inside main plug

Rookies? He doesn't even have coil packs...

The stangs seem to have a phantom starting problem when started warm... it's nothing of concern really, just turn the key to on, wait a second for the fuel pump to turn off, and back off, then to on again, to be sure you have full fuel pressure, then try to start it.
