Default quadrant, adjuster and cable

i just installed my upr quadrant, cable and firewall adjuster last night. i put the cable on the 2nd notch. the only problem im having with this is that when im cruising now theres a squeak. im almost 99% sure its the throw out bearing. does anyone know if thats due to its out of adjustment. the pedal is much stiffer now. when i first put it in it wouldnt disengage the clutch all the way to change gears. i adjusted it and i can rip on it now. also the pedal doesnt spring up like it used to. anyone else have these problems.

I've also installed the Steeda kit that includes the firewall aduster with the adjustable cable and quadrant. When I installed I had your same problem but I could adjust it better from the firewall adjuster. Still some folks that have Mustang say that the clutch should have free play, mine doesn't. My suggestion to you verify the fork just in case it's not loose .

i put mine on the 3rd hook. SAME KIT AS YOU.. I get the same goofyness with the pedal. LIke when the car is cold, it is stiffer and doesn't spring up. Once it warms up, it's smooth as silk and comes up instantly. I am gonna try greasing the cable to see if that helps. The squeak... I have no idea what to tell you. My car did that after I put in the clutch and I think it's just ford's great noisy throwout bearings. Unless something breaks, I'm not investigating a stupid noise.

very true. thats really how it is when its cold. its not bad but i just wasnt sure if it was right. also when i was installing the cable i pulled on the fork and it moved out but then i popped it back into place so thats ok. also i noticed a lot of metal shavings by the throwout bearing. like a dust of metal. everything still operates well though. but wow is it stiff. thansk for the info guys i didnt think i was going to get any responses.

i put in a new clutch and TOB and all so I have no real shavings inside yet. the shavings are probably from your clutch disc wearing (probaly normal) and the TOB wearing (again probably normal)

eventually i'm gonna try putting some grease in the cable to see if it makes it more consistant. I hate having to let the car warm up before I can clutch properly, but eh it's all heavy duty stuff
