keeps popping out of reverse

My 2000 GT keeps popping out of reverse? Anyone know what causes this and what would the remedy be? Thanks in advance

I have a similar problem.. my car (an00GT) just wont get in reverse sometimes and when I force it in reverse it pops out, I asked a mechanic who owns a 00gt and he told me to put the car in 1st gear right before getting it in reverse, so everytime I want to go in reverse I press the clutch, go to 1st and with the clutch still engaged I go to reverse. I works perfect now. I dont know why this happens thou....

I don't have this problem but I always put my car in 5th before reverse. It's alittle quicker.

You have to be completely stopped in order for it to go into reverse properly. If you are stopped, throw it into first and then go to reverse. If that doesn't work, put it back into first and roll forward just a touch and try again.
