It's 'brakes'.

Anyways, your E-brake lever could be loose and out of adjustment. This is usually what causes it to come on.

"breaks" again!

mine did that when the brake fluid was low. pads were still ok though. same exact symptoms.

the ebrake lever is supposed to be self-adjusting, it has a ratcheting device between the lever and the brake cable that sets itself each time you pull it, so it shouldn't be out of adjustment or it's broken.

The same thing happened to my '02 GT right before I had my oil changed........So, I mentioned it to them and had them check it.......The guys at the dealership said that the fluid in the reservoir was sloshing back and forth under a hard stop......They said it was normal and topped off the fluid..........It never happened again........

Yeah they arent. You have low fluid and thats it... I had the exact same problem and I was getting nervous about having to get a brake job then I checked the fluid and felt like an idiot for not thinking of it before and getting worried.

Wow, that makes so much sense. Now I am gonna sit down and read my entire owners manual because I have nothing better to do.

there is an index, so you don't actually need to read the entire thing. and it doesn't take more than maybe 10 minutes to read it.
