Default Help please odd codes.

My check engine light has been on for quite some time now, so I recently took the car up to autozone to
let them see what codes its throwin. It came up as P1445. I asked the autozone guy what this could be and he said
a purge valve. He said it would effect my mpg and cause it to sputter when im accelerating like it does now.
BUT. none of my regular mechanics have any idea what a purge valve is or where it is located. someone said
that there is more than one of them. Is it actualyl the purge valve that is throwin this code? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You don't have a purge valve on your car... Auto Zone guys get paid like $7 an hour, so you can't take anything they say seriously....

there may be a purge valve for the EVAP system. I'd look into it, that is what controls the vapors from the fuel tank being let into the engine to be burned off.

A P1445 code is EVAP Emission Purge Flow Sensor Circuit High Input. all it is does is purge pressure out of the gas tank into the intake instead of venting it to the out side. I dont remeber exactly where its at but usually they will be near the port that you use to put pressure on the evap system to test it for leaks. The port usually has a green cap and a green tag on it.

By the code that you got I would say the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. But first I would check the wireing and make sure its not loose, cut etc.
