Gears are a BIG job! My speed shop allows 5-6 hours and charges $250. I think they are best left to the pros. They can adjust the clutch tightness and shim them for street or strip depending how tight you want your posi.

Let a shop do it. I'm installing 4.10s and paid 130$ for the gears and 150$ for installation with rear in the car.

Depends on how old your rear is and everything. You need crush collar, pinion bearing, pinion nut mostly. You MIGHT need the whole kit but let a pro take your car and run it see how it sounds and everything. You could end up saving yourself like 80$ if you don't need the kit. Some will say that you NEED the kit and some will say you just need mainly what I've listed above if everything is in working order.
