Default tranny question

i just realized that ive been putting my car in gear and then putting up the e-brake and i should be doing it the other way around, now, when starting the car, should i put the ebrake down first or take it out of gear first.... anyone know?

Ummm... really doesn't matter what order you do it in providing you don't let off the brake until the ebrake is up.

what about when you want to get going again.... im guessing since u put up the ebrake first, ud prob put it down first as well?

doesn't matter when You want to drive. You have the clutch in. When you park the only reason to put the brake on first is so you don't load the tranny up when the car roles back and stop on the gear. When I parrk i actually leave the car in neutral unless I am on a hill.
